What to Expect
Research shows the goodness of fit between therapist and client is one of the most significant factors affecting change. Your comfort is important to me. Because of this, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation before meeting in person so we can start to become familiar with each other and help determine if my practice and style are a good match for you.
Should you choose to move forward with a face-to-face appointment, the first session involves talking about your background and what brings you to therapy. I will seek to learn more information about who you are, what you’ve been through, what motivates you, the important people in your life, your interests, your strengths, and what’s happening in your life that is difficult to manage. We’ll talk about ways to make the experience of therapy more comfortable for you. Within the first few sessions, we’ll also discuss your goals and what I can do to help you achieve them.
